Rock Band 4 New Tracks and Pre-Orders Announced

Rock Band 4 is just a few short weeks away and Harmonix has announced some new tracks as well as pre-orders for the stand-alone versions of their game.

Starting today you’ll be able to pre-order stand-alone versions of either the Xbox One or Playstation 4 versions of Rock Band 4.  Each console version of the game will include more than 60 tracks as well as over 1,500 additional songs through the in game music store.  The best part is that if you’ve already purchased a lot of tracks from previous versions of Rock Band then you’ll be able to import them into Rock Band 4 within the same console family at no extra charge.

Also, Xbox One owners will be able to purchase a stand-alone version of Rock Band 4 ($79.99/ £69.99/ 89.99 euros) that includes the game and a Legacy Game Controller Adapter™ that will allow them to use most wireless guitar and drum controllers from the previous generation Xbox 360 consoles.

The adapter will support up to four wireless Rock Band controllers at the same time as well as many third party wireless instrument controllers for the 360. More information on the Legacy Game Controller can be found on Mad Catz’s FAQ page for Rock Band 4.  As well, Harmonix has designed a handy-dandy chart for previous gen console hardware.

The Playstation 4 stand-alone version ($59.99/ £49.99/ 69.99 euros SRP) of the game will be a little cheaper than the Xbox One version because the Playstation 4 console will not need any additional hardware to support previous generation controllers.

“By offering game-only options and supporting seamless compatibility with previous-generation music game controllers, we’re thrilled to be offering the best value for longtime music gaming fans this holiday,” said Harmonix CEO, Steve Janiak.

There were more tracks announced today that will appear on the Rock Band 4 disc.  They include:
·  .38 Special – “Caught Up In You”
·   Arctic Monkeys – “Arabella”
·   The Both – “Milwaukee”
·   Cake – “Short Skirt/Long Jacket”
